QTL mapping for angular leaf spot in common bean using microsatellite markers

چکیده
Linkage maps allow us to deepen the understanding of the genome of a species and the identification of genes or genomic regions, denominated QTL, which control traits of economical importance. The phenotypic expression of these genes can have a discrete or continuous distribution; in the latter case the trait is generally controlled by more than one gene. Among the markers applied for mapping those based on DNA polymorphism, especially the SSR (Simple Sequence Repeat) are of particular importance since they

Mapeamento de Genes de Resistência do Feijoeiro à Ferrugem, Antracnose e Mancha-Angular Usando Marcadores RAPD*
Mapping rust, anthracnose and angular leaf spot resistance genes in common bean using RAPD markers Molecular markers were used to study the organization of rust, anthracnose and angular leaf spot resistance genes in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) Ouro Negro cultivar. A segregant population of 154 recombinant inbred lines (RIL ́s) from the crossing between Ouro Negro and Rudá cultivars was inoc...

Mineral nutrient malnutrition, particularly deficiency in zinc and iron, afflicts over 3 billion people worldwide. Biofortification of food crops is the best approach for conciliating the micronutrient deficiencies. Understanding the genetic basis of their accumulation is the preconditions for enhancing of these micronutrients. In our study, a mapping population of a set of 118 recombinant inbr...

Diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella L. is the most injurious defoliage insect pest of canola in Ardabil province of Iran. It occurs annually and causes damage in canola fields. This study was performed to identify QTLs controlling resistance to diamondback moth using SSR and RAPD markers. An F2:4 population of 180 families derived from crossing between cv. ‘SLMO46’ and cv. ‘Quantum’ wer...
متن کاملGenome-Wide Association Studies of Anthracnose and Angular Leaf Spot Resistance in Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.).
The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is the world's most important legume for human consumption. Anthracnose (ANT; Colletotrichum lindemuthianum) and angular leaf spot (ALS; Pseudocercospora griseola) are complex diseases that cause major yield losses in common bean. Depending on the cultivar and environmental conditions, anthracnose and angular leaf spot infections can reduce crop yield dra...
متن کاملCommon bean reaction to angular leaf spot comprises transcriptional modulation of genes in the ALS10.1 QTL
Genetic resistance of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) against angular leaf spot (ALS), caused by the fungus Pseudocercospora griseola, is conferred by quantitative trait loci (QTL). In this study, we determined the gene content of the major QTL ALS10.1 located at the end of chromosome Pv10, and identified those that are responsive to ALS infection in resistant (CAL 143) and susceptible (IAC...
